The primary purpose of Groups is to help the people at Redwood Covenant Church develop spiritual friendships that lead to spiritual growth. We believe that it’s through the process of building significant spiritual relationships, combined with bible studies, that people grow and experience transformation. Our Groups aim to provide just such an environment in an easily accessible format that is relevant to YOU and where you find yourself on the adventure! Our goal is to see everyone involved in Groups!

How are Groups Structured?
•Affinity Based: Because we recognize that folks are more likely to bond in groups with people they share something in common with, we encourage you to sign up for a Group that appeals to your unique place in life. This might mean a group of retired folks, a mix-aged group of outdoor adventurers, a singles group….we have many different Groups to meet your many different interests!

•Semester Based: We recognize that your time is valuable and it can be hard to commit to an indefinite period of time in a small group. By operating on a semester system, there are natural breaks throughout the year for you to join or step out for a while as your schedule changes. It also provides easy, built in opportunities for folks to join throughout the year as well as an easy way out if you’re just not clicking with your Group and want to try another one.

•Sermon Based: All of our Groups follow the same study each semester that is based on the Sunday morning sermon. This allows us to engage with the text on a deeper level, turning simple exposure into actual knowledge. It also creates a sense of community within the church as we are all studying and wrestling our way through the same material each week.

•Guides: We call our small group leaders “Group Guides” at Redwood Covenant Church. This amazing group of leaders are trained, supported and highly valued as they walk with their members through the Group experience each semester. They exhibit a key combination of spiritual and relational warmth that helps guide participants toward true spiritual friendship.

Group semesters begin 3 times a year, so there are many opportunities for you to jump on board! The month prior to the start of each semester is “promotion month” here at RCC and is also when Group sign ups are open. Once a semester starts, groups sign ups are closed until the start of the next semester.
